The General Petroleum Girls Club was a young women's charitable organization associated with General Petroleum, an oil company which eventually became Exxon Mobile, through various mergers.
The recipe pictured features vintage servingware by California-based pottery making Gladding, McBean, which also made the glazed terra cotta tile on the exterior of the General Petroleum building on Flower Street in Downtown LA (now The Pegasus Apartments).
