Several of these organizations have a history of exlusion based on gender or race, while others were formed in response, such as Hillcrest Country Club, founded by early Hollywood filmmakers who, as Jews, were not permited to join other local country clubs.
The proceeds from the sale of this book went towards scholarships for the education of future Club Managers and Chefs.
