Sunkist Recipes For Every Day
From the California Fruit Growers Exchange of Los Angeles
Los Angeles, 1929
This cookbook is one of several in this archive from a farmers' co-operative.
This book was used to market California citrus to female homemakers across the US and internationally. Press photos of women were also used with a similar objective (pictured). Women also were an important labor source for the industry, particularly in sorting and packing plants.
The caption on the included photograph reads: "Sunkist beauties: Note the large size of these oranges. This year's orange crop promises to be mostly large fruit, a fact that the housewife may keep in mind in her shopping for "best buys" this season."
